Abstract:  In this talk we will present the theory of large deviations in the context of the boundary driven symmetric simple exclusion process and some of its applications. In the end we will present some recent results in the case where the boundary dynamics is non reversible and see its consequences at the level of large deviations. This is a joint work with Claudio Landim (IMPA) and Beatriz Salvador (IST).
