The project PL24-00057 Artificial Intelligence in the Optimisation of Irrigation for Olive Groves Resilient to Climate Change was selected as one of the winners in the Promove - Pilot Projects 2024 competition.

This project proposes an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system to predict and monitor water needs by forecasting atmospheric and soil conditions. It will be integrated into drip irrigation systems to intelligently control the amount of water released. As nutrients are essential for plant growth and development and are related to the ability to tolerate periods of drought, an AI system will also be developed to optimise and recommend their application.

The total funding is 281.643,00 €, starting on September 2024 for 41 months.
