The CMAT Outreach Laboratory (OutLab) is pleased to announce that the Centre of Mathematics of the University of Minho (CMAT) is now an official partner of the national science education initiative O Espaço Vai à Escola 2025, coordinated by ESERO Portugal.

This program aims to bring space science and mathematics closer to schools across Portugal through lectures and hands-on activities delivered by researchers and educators.
CMAT researcher Filipe Costa contributes to the project with two engaging talks: “What is Gravity? From Newton’s Forces to Curved Space-Time”, which explores the transition from classical mechanics to Einstein’s theory of General Relativity; and “Relativity: The Universe in Four Dimensions”, which introduces students to the concept of space-time and its role in understanding the structure of the cosmos.

Through this collaboration, CMAT reinforces its commitment to scientific outreach and education, inspiring young minds to explore mathematics and its connections to the universe.
